About Mac Westland

Born in Detroit, Mac Westland’s journey eventually brought him south to Buchanan, Virginia—a community he is proud to call home. After graduating from high school, Mac enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as an infantryman, completing overseas tours in Cuba, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. His dedication to service earned him several honors, including the Army Volunteer Service Medal for his work assisting children with physical challenges.

After completing active duty, Mac continued his commitment to public service with the Roanoke Police Department, where he served until retiring in 2019. In 2005, he reenlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve. Today, he proudly continues serving his country as an Army lieutenant colonel.

Throughout his military and law enforcement careers, Mac remained committed to personal growth and education. He earned multiple degrees, including a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University. His experience taught him the importance of integrity, discipline, communication, and remaining calm under pressure; qualities that continue to guide his work as a Southwest Virginia real estate broker. Of all his accomplishments, however, Mac is most proud of raising and guiding his six now-adult children.

Mac earned his Virginia real estate license in 2018 and began building his business while still serving as a Roanoke police officer. Within his first five years in real estate, he was recognized as Rookie of the Year, developed a substantial real estate investment portfolio, and discovered a genuine passion for helping buyers, sellers, investors, and fellow real estate professionals reach their goals.

That passion inspired Mac to establish Mac Westland Real Estate Group, a boutique real estate brokerage built around personal service, professional development, and meaningful relationships. As the company’s owner and principal broker, Mac is committed not only to helping clients navigate the Southwest Virginia real estate market, but also to giving agents the guidance, resources, and encouragement they need to build successful careers.

Today, Mac serves homebuyers, sellers, and real estate investors throughout Roanoke, Buchanan, and communities across Southwest Virginia.
